Music Trackers: A Brief History

Music Trackers: A Brief History is a short video essay/documentary showcasing the creation of music trackers and their usage in videogame and music production history.
the video was produced in two weeks using the following tools:
OBS Studio was used to capture video footage of games and other software. i also used GIMP and OpenMPT to generate visuals and (edited) music for use in the video. the vocals were recorded and processed using Ableton Live and the video was created and edited in Sony Vegas Pro 13.

wvl, abled, dino, fuzion - 'CHIPPERS'

CHIPPERS is a 30 minute long megacollab between me, abledbody, a dinosaur, and fuzion_mixer. it started out as a 15 second loop before being rejected by The Mod Archive for being too short. i wanted to get my revenge on whoever rejected the module, so i got together with some users in my tracker music discord and we set out to make the longest possible song we could make.
the module started off as a ScreamTracker 3 module, before we reached it's pattern limit of 99 patterns, so we were forced to make it an Impulse Tracker module instead. then we ended up hitting Impulse Tracker's order limit of 256 patterns. meaning we had to go through all the patterns in the song to add loops and other tricks to minimize the amount of patterns used in the song sequence. it simply couldn't be any larger than it currently is (unless you'd change all the pattern lengths, but we stuck to 64 steps per pattern so things wouldn't get too crazy).
the module contains some bonus songs as well which are hidden in some unused patterns. the bandcamp release also includes rendered versions of those, as well as the original module if you wanna see it being played back.
oh, and the module ends in a rickroll as well. :)
wvl - 'modules - chiptune'

a compilation of 37 (!) chiptune modules i made between august 2015 and june 2019.
contains a few noteworthy songs like my Summer Chip IX entries: Meow! by ASIKWUSpulse and me, and my collab with dusthillguy called penis denis the movie adaptation that isn't as good as the book, which was also featured as one of the OpenMPT demo songs!
